This service is an extension to our existing eBank service. You just login as usual to the eBank service and then click on the aswaqnet link. The user identity and passwords that you use for the eBank service are also used for the aswaqnet service.
If you are not already using the eBank Internet service, or if you currently only use eBank for enquiries, then read the next section to find out how to get stared with the aswaqnet service.
If you are not already enrolled into the eBank service, then you must enroll. The eBank service requires you to have a user identity, a login password and a transaction password.
You enroll by using your Saudi Express card at any of our ATMs. Just choose Electronic Banking, then eBank and follow the instructions on the ATM screen.
The enrolment ends by the ATM providing you with your user identity prefix and with an initial password. This information is shown on your ATM enrolment receipt.
-
Your
user identity is two alphabetic characters
(we call this the prefix) followed by
your Bank customer number. For example,
customer number 450199
might have a user identity of TJ450199.
The prefix, in this example TJ,
is provided to you during your enrollment
and is shown on your ATM enrolment receipt.
We do not show your customer number
on the receipt for security reasons.
-
Your initial password is shown on your ATM enrolment receipt. This is the password you use to login to the eBank service for the first time. Both your login password and transaction password are initially set to this value. As soon as you have logged in you must change both your login password and your transaction password.
The transaction password is provided to you as an additional safeguard. You must use this password each time you perform a banking transaction through the eBank service. We always advise that you choose a different value for each of these two passwords.
When you first enroll into the eBank service, we allow you only to view your accounts, loans, deposits and assets. This is done as part of our standard safeguards for all of our valued customers.
To transact through eBank, you must personally visit your branch and request that your eBank service be promoted to allow you to perform transactions. You can choose which transactions you want activated and what daily and monthly limits you would like to set. This lets you tailor your eBank service to exactly suit your needs.
Once you have had your eBank service promoted for transactions, you can then immediately begin local share trading using your existing local share trading (investment) accounts and portfolios.
If you already have a local share trading (investment) account and a local share portfolio with Saudi Investment Bank, you can immediately start trading through aswaqnet. If you don't have a local share trading (investment) account, then contact your nearest branch to get started.

The aswaqnet home page is the focal point for all of its services and it is the first page provided to you when you Enter aswaqnet from the eBank service. This page offers you all of the navigation choices you need to manage your share trading activities.
The top bar is the horizontal area at the top of the page. It contains links as a set of icons:
-
The Home icon simply refreshes
the aswaqnet home page.
-
The Info icon gives you
advice and information about using the
service.
-
The Return to eBank icon
returns you back to the eBank service.
-
The Logout icon ends both
the aswaqnet and the eBank service.
The
menu bar contains menu
items that let you navigate through the
aswaqnet services. There are many other
ways to navigate to particular services,
but the menu provides an easy to understand
overview of all of the services.
The remaining parts of the home page are areas (or frames) where information is placed and where the information can be refreshed, as you require. Each frame has a title bar that contains one or two small icons. Each icon has an explanatory text alongside it.
The information in the frame is a snapshot taken when the frame was first filed or each trade or whenever you request it to be refreshed. You refresh information in one of these frames by clicking the small refresh icon in the frame's title bar.
You can select a symbol and get a quote or a detailed quote in this frame. This is one of the many ways you can obtain quotes.
This frame shows you each of your trades as it is executed in the market.
The Stock Market Index frame on the home page gives you a snapshot of the TASI at a particular time. You can see the snapshot time as part of the information. You can update this information at any time by clicking the small refresh button within the frame or by refreshing the entire page.
This frame shows your portfolios. If you have more than one portfolio you can select amongst these by choosing the one you want to view or trade in the drop-down list of portfolios. You can set one of these as your default portfolio so that the home page always shows this one when you start the service.
The holding in your portfolio are shown immediately following the summary information for the portfolio. Each of your holdings is shown in the list. If you click on a company symbol in the list, the service will go and get a detailed quote for that symbol. You will find quick links to let you buy or to sell shares in one of these companies.
Immediately following the Portfolio frame, you will find the order book frame. This shows the orders related to the chosen portfolio that you placed into the market today. The order number in the order book is a link to details of the order.
Each order has a radio button alongside that allows you to select the order. You would do this if you wished, for example, to cancel or change an existing order.
You can buy and sell shares using any of your portfolios where trading is allowed. For buying shares you will need to have sufficient buying power whether this is made up of free funds in your investment account or a margin trading facility.
You can check your buying power by clicking on calculate buying power on the home page in the portfolio frame. If you click the small information icon, again under buying power, you will be able to see how the value was calculated.
To place an order you will need to open the Buy order or Sell Order page and enter the details of the trade you want to perform. If the market is closed, your order will be handled on the next trading session.
There are many ways to open the Buy or Sell page to trade:
The order page lets you chose the portfolio to use - you may want to do this if you want to trade a portfolio other than the one currently selected in the home page.
If you clicked Buy or Sell from a holding in your portfolio or from a company symbol on the streamer, then the company is pre-selected in the order page. You can change or choose any symbol by selecting one from the drop-down list on the order page. You can get a real-time quote or detailed quote by clicking the appropriate button in the order page.
The aswaqnet service lets you see all orders placed on your portfolios. However, you cannot change, cancel or modify any order through aswaqnet that was not placed through aswaqnet.
First you will need to navigate to the order page for buying or for selling shares. You can do this by clicking Buy or Sell on the menu bar or on the portfolio in the aswaqnet home page.
For new orders you need to fill in all the fields that have not been automatically filled by the service:
-
Choose a company symbol from the drop-down list or simply enter a symbol.
-
Enter a quantity that you wish to trade.
If the quantity you enter exceeds 50,000
then you will need to enter a disclose
quantity.
-
Choose an order type.
-
A
market order will be
filled at the market price.
-
A
limit order will only be
filled at the price
that you specify. For these orders
you must enter the strike (bid
or offer) price at
which you are willing to trade.
-
Choose the fill conditions that you wish to be applied to your order.
-
Choose no condition if you are willing to accept partial filling with any quantities.
-
Choose all or none if you do not accept partial fillings.
-
Choose minimum fill and state the minimum quantity if you are willing to accept partial fillings at or above the minimum quantity.
Orders are usually placed into the market for immediate execution. You can, however, place an order into the market in a suspended state. This means that the order will not be available for execution until you change the order's state back to normal by issuing a resume order instruction.
Once you have entered the order instructions at your browser, you then submit the order for checking by the aswaqnet service. The service checks that your order is correctly filled and that all of the needed information is present.
The aswaqnet service then sends you a page asking you to confirm the order. Your confirmation must include your transaction password, which will be checked by the service before the order is placed into the market.
Finally your order is placed into the market and a page is sent to you showing the aswaqnet order reference that was allocated to your order. This reference is important and is the reference under which all of our trading services track your order.
At this stage you may view or print a cyber receipt that shows your order details. It is advisable to print the receipt for your permanent records.
Once your order has been placed into the market, you may use aswaqnet services to issue an instruction to cancel or change the order. Of course, your instructions must be given within the market and CMA rules.
Remember that you can only place day orders through aswaqnet and that you can only modify orders with aswaqnet that were originally placed through aswaqnet.
-
You can cancel an order that has not yet been fully executed.
-
You can change an order that has not yet been fully executed.
-
You can suspend an order that is not suspended and that has not yet been fully executed.
-
You can resume an order that is suspended.

The basic aswaqnet service brings you up-to-date information from the market each time you trade, get a quote or make any request for information. You can have information that you are viewing updated by clicking the refresh button
in the page.
If you want continuous market updates, just subscribe to the full aswaqnet service and you will be able to use the market watch streamer.
The market watch streamer lets you continuously monitor companies in the market in real-time. The streamer lets you watch a set of companies (in a streamer profile) at a time.
The streamer lets you chose which profile you will watch at any time. You can switch the streamer between your profiles in just a few mouse clicks.
You can start the streamer from the home page menu by selecting Streamer then clicking on Start Streamer. The streamer is a small program, called an applet that runs in your browser. The applet is automatically sent to your computer by the aswaqnet service.
The streamer displays the continuously changing state of the market and lets you click on one of the companies to initiate obtaining a quote, displaying the market depth or charting.
The streamer program is an applet that is written in Java. You can only run the applet when your browser has the relevant Java support installed and enabled.
You check for the correct Java by looking at your browser settings.
-
Click Tools on your browser main menu.
-
Select Internet Options.
-
Select the Advanced tab to open the relevant settings window in your browser.
-
Scroll down to see if you have a section called Java (Sun) and/or Microsoft VM
